Is this program right for me?

Do you have at least average organizational, communication and keyboard skills? Do you work well with others? Can you learn and retain knowledge? What's it like to take a self-study course?

In our experience, we find that people who are allowed to study on their own schedule and set their own pace not only appreciate and enjoy the learning experience more but also acquire the knowledge more readily and retain important concepts better than students in a traditional classroom setting.

Individual learning styles can differ quite a bit: people read and absorb information at different speeds. A self-study program gives you the freedom to tackle the course material using the learning method that works best for you, and this generally results in a more effective educational experience.

How do the online programs work?

The online programs at Everest Continuing Education were specifically designed to deliver an effective learning experience via the Internet. We did not simply take a textbook and digitize the content. Our online programs were built from the ground up and each course is an interactive, self-study curriculum that takes you step-by-step through the materials. This process promotes the acquisition and retention of important knowledge and practical skills. In a traditional classroom environment, there's no wiggle room: if you're having an off day and you can't recall the key points of study from the last chapter, your performance on the quiz will suffer accordingly. When you set your own pace, you can take the extra time you need to review challenging concepts and better your understanding before testing your knowledge and moving on to the next chapter.

Signing up is simple. Once you've identified the course or program that best suits your educational needs, you simply add it to your online shopping cart and complete the checkout process. You'll then receive an email that contains clear instructions on logging in and studying online.

What kind of computer hardware and software do I need?

To ensure the most enjoyable user experience, we recommend using a computer and Internet connection with the following attributes:

  • IBM PC Compatible Computer (we recommend at least 1 GB RAM, and a processor equivalent to, or newer than, an Intel "Pentium 4" 2.4 GHz processor or equivalent processor)
  • Microsoft Windows XP, Vista, or Windows 7 operating system
  • Mac OS X or higher
  • Internet connection (we recommend any type of broadband connection).
  • Sound Card with speakers or headphones.
  • Monitor connected to a video card with driver equivalent to, or newer than, SVGA (1024x768).

When do the programs start?

As soon as you enroll! One of the major benefits of online learning is that you don't have to wait for a new semester to begin studying. If your program includes printed materials, it will take a few days to get your textbooks. Once you have them, you can get started immediately.

When do I get a certificate of completion?

Everest Continuing Education provides a certificate of completion when you pass the final exam. The certificate is emailed within 10 days of course completion to the email address you used during the registration process.

Should you delete or misplace your certificate of completion, you can request a replacement. All we require to replace a certificate of completion is your full name, social security number, student ID (SID) number, current mailing address and a $10 research fee.

How do I track my progress throughout the course?

If you are logged in to the course, first you click on the "My Training" button in the bottom left hand section of the course player, and then click on "Outline" to see where you're at and skip around the course material if you need to review a previous section.

Do I have to complete my course in one sitting?

No, you do not have to complete a course session in a single sitting. Log out at the end of any section, and when you log back in, you'll see that all your information and progress has been saved.

What is the cost of the course and what methods of payment are accepted?

The cost of each course is located in the course catalog provided to you upon request or at purchase. We accept credit/debit cards (Visa, MasterCard). You may pay in full or in four affordable monthly installments for qualifying programs.

Is it secure to send my credit card information over the Internet?

Yes. Everest uses a secure server to process all transactions, since credit card transactions are very sensitive in nature.

What happens if I get disconnected from the Internet?

If you get disconnected from the Internet, you will need to log back into your account. In this case, you will return to the beginning of the lesson you were working on.

Can I take the online course from various locations and computers?

Yes! Our online courses are set up for students to access their account from any computer that is compatible.

What happens if I have technical difficulties or the system malfunctions during the course?

How do I get a username or password? What do I use it for? What should I do if I forget it?

The username and password is something selected by the student. It should also be something that you can easily remember. Your username is the email address that you enrolled with. You will use the same username and password each time you attempt to log in to the virtual university page to access your course. This information is entered in the returning students section on the home page of the virtual university. If you forget your password, first make sure you are on the correct login page. If you can't remember your password, you can click the "Forgot Password?" link on the login page. You will need to know your username or your email address. We will send you your password. You can also contact Customer Support at 855.392.1683 to request this information.

Is Everest Continuing Education licensed and accredited?

Yes, Everest Continuing Education is a division of Everest University (License #2609), which is licensed by means of accreditation according to the licensing requirements set forth in Chapter 1005, Florida Statutes, and has met the requirements of the Commission for Independent Education to operate a nonpublic postsecondary school/college in the state of Florida. Everest University is institutionally accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS), a national agency recognized by the United States Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

How do refunds work?

Should you decide that the course you've selected isn't going to work for you, we do provide refunds. A full refund will be issued so long as you have not yet completed 25 percent of the program and you've submitted a written request for a refund within 3 days of first logging into the course OR you have never logged into the course, and submit a written request for a refund within 14 days of purchasing the program (whichever occurs first). We do not offer partial refunds. If printed materials were included in the program fee, you must (at your own expense) ship these materials back to the corporate office before the refund will be processed.
